Today Is my Birthday!

 Today is the 27th, my birthday!

My Skylanders that I ordered last week arrived in the mail today too! I'm turning 16 today!
I don't have my permit yet so getting a license is out of the question for now... I'm hoping that I get some Skylanders today!

Japanese Skylanders

 I finally purchased some Skylanders from Japan!

I'm pretty excited since I don't have Darklight Crypt yet and it's the last of the first game's expansion packs that I need. And the fact that I'm getting some Skylanders from Japan is also really neat.

I'll also have a Japanese Ghost Roaster to go alongside my Mexican one. There's no visual difference, I just think it's really funny. They might get mixed up, but at least the nickname feature will help a bit.

It's also funny that this lot was only ¥719 ($5.60usd) which is cheaper than what it would be in America. (Where I live)

I would still say it's a bargain though. Unfortunately the shipping was really expensive. $57.00usd from Japan... But the Skylanders aren't the only thing in the package, I also purchased a stuffed animal which is being shipped in the same package, I think that it added to the package weight.

I'll make another post when they come in the mail! Really excited to finally have Darklight Crypt!

The woes of not knowing how to code

    Sometimes, the fact that I do not know how to code likes to come back and hit me in the face every once in a while. And yes, it is annoying. But I know at some point I will get it right.

    I don't know what these errors are, or what they mean, but with enough willpower and Stack Overflow searches, I can manage. I also found a group of people who have also been looking at reverse engineering some of the Skylanders mobile games. They are also looking for someone with Superchargers on an IOS device, if you do own it, please use my contact form near the bottom of the post.

Otherwise, I am learning!

    One of the biggest issues I faced was getting the bare application to run, whether it was a broken file or an incorrect device. I resorted to using my phone for emulation. After a while, I did manage to find an APK that allowed me to boot into the broken loading screen. I like to attribute it to the fact that I still use a Samsung S6 as most emulated devices kept telling me that the game was made to run on older hardware. I'm surprised I didn't pick up a virus on the way with the sketchy APK sites I went through. 

    Now I know there are some things that need to be fixed to allow it to run on newer hardware since I doubt that any of you here also use a Samsung S6. In my defense, if it isn't broken, don't fix it. Well, my phone camera makes a weird rattling sound every time I turn it on, my little sister did that. And this project is entirely about fixing a broken game...

    I have been thinking, but I'm not sure how this will allow for Skylanders toy codes since they were most likely stored on the previous server. And this will most likely be only runnable on a computer. I plan on creating a page with useable toy codes if I could make the server and somehow pull them. A page full of toy codes for every Skylander in the game would be neat, you could choose to just add Skylanders that you own, or add every Skylander in the whole game because who's going to stop you? Not me.

    Now onto the part where I actually fill you all in on the update in a way that looks a bit more professional, AKA I just use a bullet point list and shorten down what I've already said.

4/XX/23 Update:

• Booted the game
• Found some super cool files (A ton were for Facebook support)

Skylanders Lost Islands: Restoration Project

    If you've looked at the helpful links page recently, then you might have noticed that I have added sections for each mobile game and that there is a (currently not functioning) spot for a revived version of Skylanders: Lost Islands in its section.

    Currently, I have started a project to emulate the old servers again to get the game working. I'll be making frequent updates on the blog on the progress of the project.

    If I never finish the project, I'll upload the unfinished code if somebody would ever want to take over from my trashy spaghetti code. Just a note, I know very minimal code, so I wouldn't bet on it being completed anytime soon...

    Ah, I'm only partially joking, don't worry, I'm learning, and I plan on finishing this whole thing.

We have now made a Helpful Links page! And I hope that you have noticed our new page buttons. I'm working on making them look a bit less sloppy...

The Helpful Links page will be updated frequently with tutorials, files, and other neat stuff for you fellow Skylanders fans.

I'm also working on drawing up a custom banner for our blog so we don't have to use that screenshot anymore for our banner.
